Carmen López-San Segundo is an Assistant Professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising in the Faculty of Social Sciences (University of Salamanca-USAL), and her interdisciplinary profile is the result of the convergence of three areas of knowledge such as Social Communication, History and Education. She holds an International PhD Mention in the Programme ‘Education in the Knowledge Society’ from the USAL with the thesis entitled Media Archeology and Education: Magic Lantern Slides in Spain as a Case Study. She is a Superior Technician of Art and Design in Graphic Advertising at the Arte10 Superior School in Madrid and has a bachelor’s degree in History from the USAL. Currently, she is a coordinator and scientific advisor of FotoC3: citizenship, creativity, and care, considered Best Practice in Teaching and Social Responsibility BPRS-001/D-004 by the Observatory of The Best Practices and Continuous Improvement of the USAL. Likewise, she took part of the project A Million Pictures: Magic Lantern Slide Heritage as Artifacts in the Common European History of Learning Project (JPI Cultural Heritage 2015-2018). She is currently part of the team of researchers on the projects Educational and Scientific Challenges of the Second Spanish Republic: Internationalization, Popularization and Innovation in Universities and Secondary Schools an active R+D+i project of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and Curiositas: Espreitar antes da Realidade Virtual.
